The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2026 Met Gala turned to date night for several high-profile couples on Monday in New York City. Pairs from Rihanna and A$AP Rocky to Ciara and Russell Wilson brought their designer looks to the iconic Met steps, turning the stylish affair into an intimate evening out.

Ciara channeled Queen Nefertiti with her Celia Kritharioti glittering gold ensemble and striking headpiece. Her husband of 10 years, Russell Wilson, styled a complementary ensemble in a suit with gold accents like wings at his shoulders.

Gabrielle Union Wade and Dwyane Wade

Gabrielle Union Wade and Dwyane Wade gave couple style a sensual spin. Union wore a Michael Kors Collection sleeveless dress with a formfitting bodice and semi-sheer flowing skirt. Wade went monochrome in a black suited look with a sleeveless jacket and sharp lapels. The couple coordinated their jewelry pieces with accessories provided by Tiffany & Co.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky reigned over the 2026 Met Gala. The couple opted for looks that honored their respective approaches to fashion, with Rocky in a pink Chanel long jacket and vibrant jewelry pieces and Rihanna in a look from Maison Margiela’s fall 2025 couture collection.

Venus Williams and Andrea Preti

Venus Williams, who served as one of the event’s cochairs, wore a custom Swarovski couture design with a statement necklace inspired by her journey. She posed for photos with her husband Andrea Preti, who favored a sleek suited look in classic black and white with hints of maroon.

Suleika Jaouad and Jon Batiste

Suleika Jaouad and Jon Batiste coordinated their designer looks in custom pieces by ERL. While Batiste opted for a white ensemble consisting of a ruffled dress shirt, slightly oversize white trousers and a puffy coat, inspired by the painting “Steve” by Barkley Hendricks.

Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman

While two-time Oscar winner Adrien Brody favored Dior, Georgina Chapman wore a gold gown from her cofounded luxury label Marchesa. The dress included ornate detailing from floral embroidery to intricate beadwork on the bodice and tassels and more.

The 2026 Met Gala took place on Monday at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year’s exhibition, “Costume Art,” celebrated fashion as an art form, with a dress code of “Fashion Is Art.” The event was co-chaired by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos serving as honorary chairs. The annual benefit raises funds for the Met’s Costume Institute.
