For the uninitiated, Metallica is putting on their 24-concert ‘Life Burns Faster’ residency with 12 “no repeat weekends” from October 2026 through March 2027 at Las Vegas Sphere.

That means two shows — one on Thursdays and another on Saturdays — where they play wholly unique sets made up of fan favorites and deep cuts from their storied back catalog.

Although we don’t know what the Sphere set lists will look like just yet, James Hetfield and co. have employed this two-show format for their ongoing ‘M72 Tour,’ which began in 2023.

Night one Thursday shows typically included headbanger delights “Master of Puppets,” “Seek & Destroy,” “Sad But True,” “Nothing Else Matters” and “Creeping Death” among others, based on our findings at Set List FM.

The nine-time Grammy winners often reserve stone cold classics “Enter Sandman,” “Ride The Lightning,” “Whiplash,” “Blackened” and, of course, “One” for night two.

So, is going to both Metallica Sphere shows actually a good deal?

Well…

Kerrang! reported that “at the end of 32 songs and well over four hours of music across two awesome nights, the 50,000+ punters in attendance were still baying for more.”

“During both nights, the entire stadium was engulfed in a sea of headbanging, fist-pumping fans who sang along to every lyric,” Consequence added. “Metallica’s stage presence was magnetic, with a highly-energized Hetfield engaging in cheery banter, drummer Lars Ulrich firing up the crowd from behind his kit, and Hammett and Trujillo captivating both audiences from start to finish.”

Clearly, based on reviews we’ve dug up, the answer is a resounding yes.

On a more practical level, we suggest thinking about your “future self.”

Imagine it’s 2035. Will you kick yourself for missing out on the full Metallica ‘No Repeat’ Sphere experience? Or are you happy you saved a few hundred dollars?

We’ll outline the ticket prices for all 24 concerts (including two-show packages) so you can make an informed decision but the choice is yours.

Either way, should you attend one or two ‘Life Burns Faster’ nights, you’re likely in for the show of a lifetime.

See you in Sin City, fellow 5th Members.

This will be the first time the Rock Hall of Famers have performed in the Constitution State since July 1998 when they headlined at Hartford’s Meadows Music Theater as part of their ‘Poor Re-Touring Me Tour.’

Metallica new music

On April 14, 2023, Metallica dropped their 11th studio album “72 Seasons.”

The thrumming, high-velocity record quickly sets the tone with the non-stop thrill ride title track and then refuses to let up throughout its healthy 77-minute runtime.

Indisputable highlights include the snaking “Sleepwalk My Life Away,” nakedly raw “You Must Burn!” and unrelenting “Lux Æterna.” Don’t expect a second to breathe; Metallica goes hard the entire time with nary a moment to rest. Just the way it should be.

To hear for yourself, you can listen to “72 Seasons” here.
