We now know where MGK — also known as Machine Gun Kelly, also known as Colson Baker — will pop up for his surprise free show in Milwaukee Aug. 13.
The rocker/rapper/actor/celeb gossip site favorite will perform a free concert at Shank Hall, 1434 N. Farwell Ave., the long running live music gem with a capacity of just 300 people. By comparison, MGK’s last ticketed Milwaukee concert was at a sold-out American Family Insurance Amphitheater during Summerfest in 2022 in front of about 23,000 people. (He also made a surprise appearance during Jelly Roll’s Harley-Davidson Homecoming set last year.)
MGK performs at Skydeck on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sept. 24, 2024.
MGK fans were invited to sign up for updates, with details sent out to email subscribers at 1 p.m. Aug. 13. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Fans cannot line up for the show before that time, with people admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The show is slated to start at 7:30 p.m., and concertgoers must be at least 18 years old and provide a valid ID at the door.
The surprise concert is one of just five MGK has announced that are slated for intimate venues as part of the “lost xx road trip” tour. The first was in at Hey Hey Bar & Grill in Columbus, in MGK’s home state of Ohio, Aug. 11, followed by a concert in Indianapolis on Aug. 12 at Turner’s Bar and Grill. After Milwaukee, MGK will move on to Minneapolis Aug. 14, before seemingly wrapping up the run in Los Angeles Aug. 15, at venues yet to be announced.
The tour follows the Aug. 8 release of MGK’s latest album, “Lost Americana.”
