Tuscaloosa takes center stage in Morgan Wallen’s ‘Don’t We’ music video

If you’re aware of the headlines, the Fourth of July might feel a bit insipid this year. America itself feels like a crumbling empire that’s trying to grasp onto any semblance of power as a new world order takes hold.

Yes, the world may be burning, but you can at least party while everything collapses around you.

While partying can feel a bit crass amid such chaos, it is worth remembering that the dance floor has proven time and again to be a place where rebellion is born. Even in Miami, the Fourth of July weekend will see not one but two queer parties, an underground venue reborn, and, yes, plenty of big names in dance music.

If you are wondering how to mark America’s 249th birthday, check out this chronological list of nine Fourth of July weekend parties in and around Miami that won’t disappoint. (Fireworks more your jam? We got you covered there too!)

Alesso

Alesso at LIV and Palm Tree Club

Swedish producer Alesso will be pulling double duty the day before the Fourth of July, starting with a sunset set at Kygo’s Palm Tree Club in North Bay Village. Afterward, he’ll move over to LIV at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach for a late-night set at the iconic venue. Alesso has been at the forefront of the EDM scene for what seems like forever with tracks like “Heroes (We Could Be)” and “When I’m Gone.” 4 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Palm Tree Club, 1819 79th St. Cswy., North Bay Village; 786-204-1366; palmtreeclubmiami.com. Tickets cost $79 to $149 via posh.vip. 11 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at LIV, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $86.21 to $305.43.

Indepen-Dnce at Revenge

Gay party promoter Urge takes over Revenge nightclub in Miami Beach for a Fourth of July bash on Thursday. Indepen-Dnce promises dirty beats, hot bodies, and a night you won’t forget. Mexican DJ/producer Jesus Montanez will go back-to-back with Jerac, while Yazz Burrell and Yordi are also on the bill. 10:30 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Revenge, 1532 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; urgemiami.com. Tickets cost $45 via dice.fm.

Chus at Mode

Stereo Productions founder Chus will make his way to Mode in downtown Miami, bringing along with him his legendary house tunes. Argentine-born, Miami-based producer Patrick M and Mode regular Hanna Leon will also be spinning throughout the night. Best known for his Iberican sound, expect Chus to bring a blend of house, tribal, and Afro-Latin rhythms. 10 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Mode, 2 S. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-942-7240; mode.miami. Tickets cost $20 to $30 via dice.fm.

Catch Claptone with Coco & Breezy at Club Space on Friday.

Claptone and Coco & Breezy at Club Space

Long after the last fireworks have burst over downtown, Club Space will only have started to get into the red, white, and blue spirit. Headlining on Friday night – technically Saturday morning – are German DJ/producer Claptone and two-sister duo Coco & Breezy. Claptone is already pretty familiar with Space’s Terrace, having played there countless times, though it shouldn’t be any less exciting. However, Coco & Breezy are less familiar to the crowds at Space. The siblings were last here for Miami Music Week in March, where they performed at ZeyZey and the National Hotel. 11 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Club Space, 34 NE 11th St., Miami; clubspace.com. Tickets cost $10 to $60 via dice.fm.

Daytime Service at Arlo Wynwood

The Midnight Service crew will take over the Arlo Wynwood on Friday for its poolside bash, Daytime Service. Alan Amorozzo, Miguel Clark, and Naim Zarzour will be spinning all your favorite disco and house hits. You just need to bring your skimpy swimwear, and they’ll provide the beats to make you wet. 3 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Arlo Wynwood, 2217 NW Miami Ct., Miami; 786-522-6600; arlohotels.com. Tickets cost $32 via dice.fm.

Cosmic Gate drops in at Kemistry on Friday night

Cosmic Gate at Kemistry

German trance duo Cosmic Gate return to the Magic City for a Fourth of July set at Fort Lauderdale’s Kemistry. Luccio, Chris Berner, and Christian Corsi are also on the bill. Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems have been creating music together since 1999, eventually gaining recognition with their 2001 single, “Fire Wire.” In 2023, the pair released Mosaiik Chapter Two, a continuation of their 2021 album of the same name. 10 p.m. Friday, July 4, at Kemistry, 307 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale; 954-282-9169; kemistrynightclub.com. Tickets cost $25 to $45 via dice.fm.

Calling all Illennials: Illenium’s at Elleven!

Illenium at E11even

EDM producer Illenium will deliver a patriotic set at Elleven. If you consider yourself an Illennial, Nick Miller doesn’t need much of an introduction, but for the rest of you, the 34-year-old producer got his start around the sudden burst in popularity of EDM in the early 2010s. In 2023, he released his fifth self-titled album, which included collaborations with Teddy Swims, Jvke, and Avril Lavigne. Last month, Illenium dropped “In My Arms,” a melodic dubstep collaboration with Hayla. 8 p.m. Friday, July 4, at E11even, 29 NE 11th St., Miami; 305-829-2911; 11miami.com. Tickets will be available at the door.

Made in Miami Pool Party at Daer Dayclub

Best known to party crowds for its Miami Music Week edition at the Kimpton Epic Hotel, Oscar G’s Made In Miami pool party returns on Friday for a Fourth of July edition. Joining Oscar G on the decks are Cocodrills and Andrea Quintero. There is also a long list of supporting DJs, including Bruno Pozzo, Doc Brown, Ollie Sanders, and Syala. The party starts at noon, so you’ll have plenty of time to get into the patriotic mood. Noon Friday, July 4, at Daer Dayclub, 1 Lucky St., Hollywood; 954-779-4750; hardrocknightlife.com. Tickets cost $36.37 to $60.62 via dice.fm.

Project Mayhem at the Boombox

While not explicitly a Fourth of July event, suburban nightlife escape the Boombox is making its grand return this weekend. The party kicks off on Friday and lasts all weekend, featuring three days of events. 10 p.m. Friday, July 4; 8 p.m. Saturday, July 5; and 6 p.m. Sunday, July 6; at the Boombox, 4447 SW 75th Ave., Miami; instagram.com/theboomboxmiami. Tickets cost $16.88 to $36 via shotgun.live.
