It’s a rare occasion when we get a glimpse inside the lives of the former first family, the Obamas, but when we do, it’s all big smiles, big love, and big style.
Yesterday, Michelle Obama stepped out for a low-key dinner at Beverly Hills hotspot Funke with her daughters, Malia and Sasha. And for the girls’ night, the trio brought out their fun, bold fashion.
Malia, the eldest, stepped into spring in a black halter dress covered entirely in a white flower print. Ever the cool girl, the 27-year-old filmmaker paired the body-hugging midi with chunky black leather boots and a little shoulder bag in a black-and-white print. (Expertly mixing patterns? She must’ve gotten the style gene from her mom.)
Sasha took a different approach, reaching for a boxy denim jacket and loose jeans, which she cinched with a brown leather belt with an ornate silver buckle and paired with black square-toe flats. The 24-year-old let the bottom few buttons of her jacket undone, revealing a sliver of her belly button, which was adorned with a gleaming crystal piercing. Ever the maximalist, Sasha popped on some big bangles all over her arms and carried a teal bag with silver straps. Her nails were painted an electric blue with white tips and her makeup look included plenty of pink blush and a glowy lip.
As for their mom, Michelle went off duty in a slinky grey-green top and worn-out blue jeans, which she paired with she paired with a powder-green jacket with a brown collar. A light-brown belt and a tan suede bag rounded out the earthy look.
While Michelle and husband Barack Obama primarily live in Washington, D.C., Malia and Sasha share a home in Los Angeles, where Malia works as a film writer and director.
