Mickey Rourke is turning to crowdfunding to keep from being evicted from his Los Angeles home.
With the actor’s permission, a GoFundMe was launched Sunday seeking to “help Mickey Rourke stay in his home.”
“Today, Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home,” the GoFundMe says. “This fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Rourke, 73, received a three-day eviction notice on Dec. 18. He owes about $59,100 in rent.
“Life doesn’t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk,” the fundraiser stated.
The GoFundMe is being organized by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team.
“Mickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it’s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,” Jones said to the Hollywood Reporter.
Rourke signed a lease for the three-bedroom, two-bathroom home in March 2025. Rent at the time was $5,200 a month but was later increased to $7,000 a month.
As of this writing, the GoFundMe has raised $55,802. The fundraiser seeks to raise a total of $100k.
Rourke is best known for his performances in such films as “Diner,” “9 1/2 Weeks,” “Angel Heart,” and “Barfly.” He was nominated for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe for his performance in the 2008 film “The Wrestler.”
