Beastie Boys‘ Mike D has launched his solo career with the release of new single ‘Switch Up‘ – the first piece of new music from any member of the group since ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part Two’ in 2011.
The track began life with his sons Davis and Skyler alongside their band Very Nice Person, before drawing in further collaborators across a number of different locations. The single dropped while Mike was mid-set at a sold out gig at Plaza Nightclub and Dance Hall in Los Angeles.
Still to come are a 10th May appearance at Sid the Cat Auditorium in South Pasadena, CA, plus a two-night run at Xanadu Roller Arts in Brooklyn, NY on 22nd and 23rd May.
