Miley Cyrus is reflecting on her past while moving forward in her present.
While speaking to Vogue this week, the singer, 32, revealed she still keeps meaningful mementos from her relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth — even as he celebrates his engagement to longtime girlfriend Gabriella Brooks.
“I literally have a dress that I had on when I met my ex-husband, and then I have my dress that I wore on our first date,” Cyrus admitted. “Along with letters and things that I really, I want to savor these kind of beautiful moments of my life.”
Cyrus, 32, explained that deciding what to keep private versus what to share publicly can be tricky, given that so many of her personal milestones played out in the spotlight.
“These intimate moments have also been public moments,” she added. “It’s a little bit tough to decide what piece I want to share and what I would ever allow to be seen.”
The former couple first met on the set of The Last Song in 2009. After years of on-and-off romance — including two engagements — Cyrus and Hemsworth married in 2018, split in 2019, and finalized their divorce in early 2020.

At the time, their rep told People, “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and [their] careers.”
Hemsworth, 35, has since found lasting love with Brooks, who announced their engagement on September 12. The couple has been together nearly six years, first spotted in Australia in 2019 before making their red-carpet debut in June 2021.
Cyrus, meanwhile, has been happily dating musician Maxx Morando since 2021 — with the pair going public at the Gucci Love Parade in Los Angeles that November.
