Miranda Cosgrove Shares Major Update on Rumored ‘iCarly’ Movie originally appeared on Parade.
Fans of iCarly just got some huge news from the star of the franchise, Miranda Cosgrove, as she officially confirmed that the rumored movie is being written right now.
Cosgrove spoke with Entertainment Weeklyrecently and shared the big news, saying of the wrap-up iCarly film, “It’s being written, which is really exciting. And it looks like it’s happening. I’m really excited.”
The actress shared a thrilling detail about the movie as well, noting that it will finally reveal Cosgrove’s character Carly’s mother, who is also the mother of her older brother Spencer, played by Jerry Trainor.
She told the publication, “We don’t know who’s going to play the mom character yet, but she’s going to be a big part of the movie,” before adding, “That’s exciting. We’re just excited to start it and actually film.”
Cosgrove’s new comments are what fans of iCarly have been waiting for, as there hadn’t been a real confirmation yet that the rumored project was going forward. Although Cosgrove hinted at the plans during an appearance late last year.
The finale of the revival iCarly series left fans with a lot of unanswered questions. The episode ends with Carly and Freddie, played by Nathan Kress, deciding to get married, but before they can go through with it, Carly and Spencer’s mother suddenly shows up.
With such a big cliffhanger, when Paramount+ announced the show’s cancellation, fans were very frustrated. Hopefully, Cosgrove and the rest of the cast will be able to deliver a great wrap-up film soon.
