MoBand season finale, more entertainment in Modesto CA area

The coming week brings your final chance this season to enjoy the music of MoBand. Of course, the weekend is filled with community Fourth of July celebrations across the Modesto region. We’ll highlight just few below, but for a longer list of holiday options, see our story on modbee.com. Here’s a look at some of the entertainment planned in the area July 4-10.

MoBand

The Modesto Band of Stanislaus County concludes its 2026 season with the theme “Sunshine and Rainbows.” Music will include selections from Jimmy Buffett, “Kokomo” by The Beach Boys and the Israel Kamakawiwoʻole-based version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World.” The group encourages audience members to wear Hawaiian shirts.

Carnegie exhibit

“Farms & Fields,” an annual exhibition at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock, continues its 2026 run. The show celebrates the variety and importance of agriculture in the Central Valley. “The bounty of the region is always represented not only by the variety of subjects depicted, but also in the number of artists featured and the wide range of creative media included,” the center’s website says.

WHEN: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, through July 25

“Don’t Touch That Dial!”

Sierra Repertory Theatre’s production of Roger Bean’s musical comedy revue “Don’t Touch That Dial!” continues in Columbia State Historic Park. The story takes audiences into “a wildly unpredictable television universe where sitcoms, game shows, variety hours, and classic TV theme songs collide in one fast-moving evening of comedy and nostalgia,” according to a press release. The show features nearly 100 iconic TV songs. In the second act, the theater transforms into a live television event where audience members can join the fun from their seats, with participation optional.

Modesto Independence Day

Get in a triple dip of celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary in Modesto. First, the Modesto Roadsters baseball team provides two options, with fireworks shows following its Friday and Saturday evening games. Both are against the Oakland Ballers.

WHEN: Game time 7:11 p.m. with fireworks to follow, July 3-4

On Saturday, the city of Modesto and the Modesto Kiwanis Club present the annual parade, with this year’s theme “Celebrating America’s Birthday, 250 Years.” The parade route is from 10th and F streets to J Street, then back on 11th Street to I Street, ending at 17th Street. Prior and afterward, there will be a street fair with food, beverages, crafts and entertainment in downtown.

Woodward fireworks

You also can watch the bombs burst in air over the water. The Stanislaus County Fireworks Celebration at Woodward Reservoir returns on Saturday. Entry to the event this year is on a first-come basis.

WHERE: Woodward Reservoir, 14528 26 Mile Road

Turlock Fourth celebrations

The Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association and Turlock Chamber of Commerce also plan a two-day blowout. A parade begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday along West Main Street. Also on Friday, at the county fairgrounds, will be live music, local vendors, food booths and more. A fireworks show begins at dusk. On Saturday, there will be a car show, farmers market and a makers market in downtown.
