Iconic bands will get the tribute treatment in shows at Modesto’s Gallo Center for the Arts and State Theatre. The Oakdale Rodeo also will kick up some dust, among the entertainment options planned in the region April 11-17.
Bee Gees tribute
You Should Be Dancing — A Tribute to the Bee Gees will play at the Gallo Center. “With meticulous attention to detail, they capture the essence of the brothers Gibb, delivering an unbelievable experience that transports audiences back to the golden era of disco and beyond,” the center’s website says.

Grateful Dead tribute
Definitely Dead brings its Grateful Dead tribute to the State Theatre. With lighting, video and gear, “Definitely Dead is more than just a group of musicians in a tribute band — they’re ambassadors of the Grateful Dead’s enduring legacy…,” the theater’s website says.

Oakdale Rodeo
The annual cowboy event returns, beginning with an April 11 parade at 9 a.m. that starts on West F Street at Gilbert Avenue, continues down F Street toward South Maag Avenue, ending at the Save Mart Shopping Center. The day will continue with a PRCA Rodeo with grand entry at 1:30 p.m. at the Oakdale Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds. That evening is a dance from 8 p.m.-midnight in the grounds’ clubhouse. Admission is $10 for the 21-and-older dance, with live music and adult beverages. On Sunday, Cowboy Church is at 10 a.m. at the clubhouse. The PRCA Rodeo grand entry is at 1:30 p.m.

Rockabilly reunion
The Rockabilly Families Reunion Crazy Daze will take the stage at the State Theatre. The show features the John Clifton Blues Band, Bill Clifton’s Chicken & Whiskey Band, Daffney Payne Punk Rockabilly Band and Tony T and the Pendletons. All proceeds go to the nonprofit Peer Recovery Art Project.

Pollinator fest
The Modesto Pollinator Festival features educational opportunities for all ages to learn about the pollinators and native plants in the Central Valley. There will be interactive activities in the Native Garden, food trucks, entertainment, a children’s pollinator costume parade at 10:30 a.m., a beehive demonstration and more.
