After sharing their awesome new single ‘When He Walks Around’ last week, Adelaide ragers Molly Rocket have dropped a music video for the track.
Recorded and edited by Liam Woolcock, the video shows the band performing at a kids’ party, complete with a bouncy castle and a clown who ends up demolishing a chocolate cake.
Produced with Tim Maxwell (LOSER) at Melbourne’s Wrangler Studios, the track is inspired by female bands who made their mark during the ‘90s alt-rock scene.
“‘When He Walks Around’ is a vibrant, catchy feel-good rock song inspired by the Celebrity Skin-era of grunge icons Hole, as well as the many girl-led groups of that time,” explains Molly Rocket. “The song captures the thrill of meeting someone who completely changes your world- and the fear that often comes with that shift.”
The band adds, “Lyrically, it follows a journey of infatuation with a stranger, through uncertainty, and ultimately to full acceptance of who that person is. The chorus becomes an anthem for embracing love, imperfections and all, within a chaotic world.”
The release of ‘When He Walks Around’ coincides with Molly Rocket announcing their sophomore EP, The Dogs Are Barking, which will arrive in early 2026.
