Music lovers in Adams County took in the sounds of the Gettysburg Brass Band Festival on Sunday.
The five-day event allows people to hear all that brass musicians have to offer. The festival originally started as a one-day event by local performers and has since grown to include musicians from across the Mid-Atlantic.
Some performers say the event holds special memories for them.
“This is my favorite weekend of the entire year,” said Amy Larsen, with the Benfield Brass Band. “This is my 20th Gettysburg Brass Band Festival. I got engaged here to my husband, who also plays in two bands with me. This place is so important to us. We’re so grateful to Ben Jones. I will be back until I can no longer play.”
This is the 29th annual Brass Band Festival, and organizers say they’re looking forward to celebrating the 30th anniversary next year.
