The man accused of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music ahead of her Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta has now pleaded guilty in the case. Kelvin Evans accepted a plea deal on Tuesday (May 12) just before the matter was expected to head to trial in Georgia.

The case first made headlines last year after members of Beyoncé’s team reported that unreleased songs and sensitive tour material had disappeared from a vehicle parked in Atlanta just days before the singer’s scheduled performances.

As per court proceedings, Evans pleaded guilty to entering an automobile in connection to the July 2025 incident. Prosecutors reportedly told the court he had previously rejected earlier plea offers before agreeing to the latest deal shortly before jury selection was scheduled to begin.

Under the agreement, Evans received a five-year sentence that includes two years in prison followed by three years on probation. TMZ reported that he was sentenced as a recidivist, meaning he will not qualify for parole.

During Tuesday’s court proceedings, prosecutors reportedly played surveillance footage tied to the alleged break-in at the Krog Street parking garage in Atlanta. Authorities claimed the stolen items included flash drives containing unreleased and watermarked Beyoncé music, laptops, tour set lists, production plans, designer sunglasses, and other personal belongings connected to the tour.

According to 11Alive, investigators later tracked some of the missing devices using location pings. Surveillance footage and license plate data eventually helped authorities connect a vehicle tied to Evans to the scene.

Prosecutors alleged Evans borrowed a car from his niece before driving to the parking garage where Beyoncé’s team had parked a rented Jeep Wagoneer. Authorities claimed he noticed luggage inside the SUV before taking two suitcases and leaving the area.

His defense attorney reportedly told the court Evans was trying to move forward with his life and hoped to eventually “make money legitimately” after resolving the case.

Beyoncé has not publicly commented on the plea deal or sentencing.
