Offset was rushed to a hospital Monday after being shot near a casino in Florida.
According to multiple reports, the popular rapper was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Casino Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.
“Can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” a rep for the rapper told Variety. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, is best known as a member of the rap group Migos along with Quavo and Takeoff.
Variety reported that there are few details involving the circumstances that led to the shooting.
“We are aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to an individual who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital,” Seminole Police told TMZ.
Social media rumors suggested that another rapper, Lil Tjay, was also shot in the incident, however there does not appear to be any evidence for that at the moment and the police only mentioned one individual being transported.
Takeoff, who was Offset’s cousin, was shot and killed in Houston back in 2022. He was 28.
Offset, 34, embarked on a solo career in 2017 with his album “Without Warning.” A single from that album, “Ric Flair Drip,” hit number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Flair, the professional wrestling legend, was among those sending support to the rapper on Monday.
“Prayers for Offset!” Flair shared on X. “Stay Strong! Thank you so much for all you have done for my career!”
