DENVER (KDVR) — Grab your eyeliner and hair spray, emo is back in the Mile High City.

My Chemical Romance, from New Jersey and known for their hits like “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “I’m Not Okay,” is coming to Denver next summer.

MCR performed at a handful of major U.S. cities this year, but none near Denver. According to a press release, the “Long Live: The Black Parade” tour concluded earlier this month and sold nearly half a million tickets across 10 markets in North America.

Monday morning, the band announced that its “The Black Parade 2026” tour will include 17 new dates in the U.S. and Europe to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their third studio album, “The Black Parade.”

The group was an icon in emo and rock music in the early 2000s before they parted ways in 2013 and continued to make music in other bands or solo careers. They shocked fans by coming together for a reunion show in 2019, and their concerts have been known to sell out almost immediately ever since.

The band was planning to go on tour in 2020, but tour dates were postponed to 2022, which was the last time the emo icons were in Denver as a band.

Now, Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Frank Iero and Ray Toro are set to return to the Mile High City for a second time since their reunion on Aug. 27, 2026, at Coors Field.

The tour begins in January and includes several dates in South America, Southeast Asia, Mexico and Europe before it comes to the U.S. in August. Shows in the U.S. will have support from artists like Pierce The Veil, Modest Mouse, Iggy Pop, Jimmy Eat World and more.

The Breeders, an alternative rock band from Dayton, Ohio, will join MCR for the show at Coors Field.

Tickets for the show in Denver and all the other newly announced dates will go on sale on Friday at noon and can be purchased through the band’s website.
