Fuming Mouth Announce New Album ‘The Ringing Bell’: Hear “A Blaze Of Nihilism”

New Music Director John Storgårds Talks About The National Arts Centre Orchestra

In 2024, experimental London post-punk band Black Midi announced that they’re “indefinitely over.” Last month, original guitarist Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin suddenly and tragically died at the age of 26. Kwasniewski-Kelvin’s former bandmates are now making music in different configurations. Geordie Greep released his solo debut The New Sound in 2024, and now My New Band Believe, the new project from bassist Cameron Picton, announce an LP of their own.

A year ago Cameron Picton unvelied My New Band Believe and shared their debut single “Lecture 25.” Their self-titled album drops this spring, and CD copies will come with bonus discs that feature seven different versions of the new song “Numerology.” Vinyl copies, meanwhile, include a 10″ single of the song. “Numerology,” which technically isn’t on the album, is a fast, dizzy, ecstatic rush of acoustic guitars, free jazz horn-squeaks, funky calypso bursts, and ba-ba-ba harmonies. It sounds like what might happen if Basement Jaxx tried to make an acoustic record. Check it out below, along with the album’s tracklist and My New Band Believe’s tour dates.

TRACKLIST:
01 “Target Practice”
02 “In The Blink Of An Eye”
03 “Heart Of Darkness”
