Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, 100 Thieves’ CEO, has been awarded as the Esports Personality of the Decade at the Esports Awards. The ceremony for The Decade Awards saw 9.8 million fans cast their votes to celebrate esports and gaming’s legendary figures. This event was held alongside the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as part of their “Summer of Celebration”.
Originally, Nadeshot’s career in esports began when he played Call of Duty professionally for OpTic Gaming back in June 2010. Nadeshot competed professionally until 2015, where he stepped away after OpTic’s 7th place finish at the Call of Duty Championship. After stepping away from competing in Call of Duty, Nadeshot transitioned to content creation and founded 100 Thieves in 2016. As a content creator, Nadeshot was able to grow his YouTube channel, where he produces gaming content, vlogs, and behind-the-scenes looks at esports life, to have over 3 million subscribers.
Since founding 100 Thieves, Nadeshot has grown the team into one of the biggest brands around in esports and gaming. Nadeshot’s approach to building 100 Thieves focused not only on growing its presence in esports, but also building the organization as a brand that also focuses on lifestyle and apparel. The organization has since been able to partner with various major companies to expand its reach beyond the esports industry.
