Nancy Guthrie hunt’s creepy update as close pals ‘keep quiet’ – Celebrity News – Entertainment

As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues three months after she was reported missing, a new update has been shared.

According to NewsNation’s Brian Entin, the Guthrie family has allegedly asked Nancy’s close friends not to speak publicly as the investigation unfolds in and around Arizona.

“We’ve heard from several [sources] that the Guthrie family has asked Nancy’s close friends to keep things private right now,” Brian told Parade. It comes after her famous daughter Savannah Guthrie returned to NBC’s Today show after temporarily stepping down since her mom vanished.

“You haven’t seen a lot of her close friends come forward and talk about her, which is different than other cases,” he added.

Entin also pointed to growing unease among Tucson residents as a reason for the silence. He explained, “I also think people here are still nervous about the whole thing.

“For us covering it, we live in different states, but people who live here in Tucson, especially in the neighborhood, these kinds of things don’t happen.

“And the fact that there’s no new information and they have no idea who did it, I think people are just still nervous about the whole thing, which might be why you don’t see as many people talking about it,” he continued.

As the hunt enters its third month, Brian claimed not everyone has been willing to speak out. “It’s been interesting to see who wants to talk and who doesn’t,” the reporter went on.

He then noted that Nancy’s church friends were among the first to raise concern when she stopped showing up and answering calls. “No one has said anything,” Brian said.

It comes as Brian is set to host the upcoming television special, NewsNation Presents: The Nancy Guthrie Mystery, which will air on the CW on Wednesday, May 6.

The 84-year-old was reported missing on February 1 after she didn’t turn up to her friend’s house to watch a livestream of mass. When she did not arrive, and friends were unable to reach her, the family was contacted out of concern, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said.

On January 31, Nancy has been at a dinner party hosted at her other daugher Annie’s home before being dropped off in an Uber later that night. It is suspected Nancy was taken out of her multi-million dollar Tucson home against her will in the early hours of February 1.
