Nancy Guthrie’s kidnappers are reportedly “confident they’re not going to be found,” a missing person expert has revealed.
Lance Leising, a retired FBI agent, went on Fox News‘s Saturday in America to speak about the Nancy Guthrie case and share his expertise with viewers.
However, one week on, former federal agent Lance Leising has shared his thoughts on the investigation, telling Kayleigh McEnany that the 84-year-old grandma’s abductors “are confident they’re not going to be found.”
Speaking on February 7, the same day Annie Guthrie, Nancy’s daughter, had her home searched for the second time, Lance said, “If the motive is financial gain, which, from all indications, from the note, it appears that way, not an ideological statement, but financial gain, an open line of communication is the way to get that.”
Continuing, the former law enforcement officer added, “It’s indicative potentially of a fraudulent note.”
Lance further said that it was “interesting” for the captors to send a second ransom note, if the letter is indeed genuine, because “they’re confident they’re not going to be found, they’re confident they’re using anonymizers, and changing their IP address, and running it through a bunch of different countries to potentially avoid being tracked.”
However, the retired agent also pointed out that “they’re not offering anything that would authenticate that they are the kidnappers.”
“We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah said while sitting between her two siblings. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Police have not yet publicly confirmed whether the ransom note is genuine, and the investigation is still ongoing.
