The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) wants Kim Kardashian to reconsider her moon landing conspiracy theories.
NASA Acting Administrator Sean Duffy took to X on Thursday, Oct. 30, to shut down Kardashian’s belief that the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing was fake.
“Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before … 6 times!” Duffy wrote. “And even better: @NASAArtemis is going back under the leadership of @POTUS. We won the last space race and we will win this one too.”
Kardashian, 45, seemed excited to have made contact with Duffy, taking the exchange as an opportunity to ask about the 3I/ATLAS comet, the third interstellar object confirmed passing through our Solar System.
“Wait…. what’s the tea on 3I Atlas?!?!!!!!!!?????” Kardashian tweeted at Duffy.
Duffy’s tweet comes after Kardashian said she believes the moon landing “didn’t happen” during Thursday’s episode of ”The Kardashians.”
The Skims cofounder then proceeded to share her hot take with her “All’s Fair” costar Sarah Paulson.
“I’m sending you, like, so far, a million interviews with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one,” Kardashian said, referring to late astronaut Neil Armstrong. Kardashian claimed that as Aldrin, 95, has gotten older, he’s said some things that suggest he didn’t really walk on the moon.

Paulson responded that she’d do “a serious deep dive” and form her own opinions.
Later in the episode, Kardashian laid out more of her questions regarding footage of the 1969 moon landing.
“There’s no gravity on the moon, why is the flag blowing? … Why are there no stars?” she asked. “Go to TikTok, see for yourself.”
A BBC article about moon landing conspiracy theories points out that when Armstrong and Aldrin placed the American flag on the moon, their movements caused the flag to ripple. After they stepped away, the flag remained in the same position, making it look like it was actively rippling in photos.
As for the lack of stars, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson explained on his “StarTalk” podcast that because “the terrain [on the moon] is so bright from the sun, the aperture of the camera closes down and cannot register the light of the dim things, such as the stars in the sky.”
