Everybody needs good neighbours, as two local government authorities are continuing to demonstrate.
The City of Canning has planted more than 8000 tubestock at Yagan Park wetlands in Bull Creek this season to restore the Banksia woodland threatened ecological community, boost biodiversity and improve habitat for fauna.
They were joined by City of Melville employees, who were simultaneously revegetating Bateman Reserve on the other side of the boundary, the neighbouring councils working together to restore the Canning River corridor.
This project is funded by the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program, with the support of the City of Canning and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attraction.
