Neil Young brings back his benefit concert with Lana Del Rey and Beck

Neil Young, Beck and Lana Del Rey plan to share the stage next month at a benefit concert in Southern California aimed at supporting children with serious medical needs.

The event, called Harvest Moon, is scheduled to take place on Oct. 25 at the Painted Turtle, a camp in Lake Hughes, about an hour north of Los Angeles. Proceeds will go to the Painted Turtle, which provides camp experiences for children with chronic illnesses, and the Bridge School, which helps children with severe speech and physical disabilities.

The daylong gathering will open with music from Masanga, a marimba ensemble known for blending Zimbabwean and Latin American traditions.

Young is set to headline with his band, the Chrome Hearts.

“This gathering, where music, nature and purpose come together, is a powerful celebration of hope and community,” April Tani, executive director of the Painted Turtle, said in a statement. “It’s an opportunity for all of us to support two extraordinary organizations making a real difference in children’s lives.”

In addition to music, the gathering promises a family-friendly festival atmosphere, complete with food trucks, activities and limited-capacity grounds to preserve the event’s intimacy.

Tickets, starting at $275, go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24. In addition to general admission, a handful of VIP packages offering valet parking, prime seating and access to a donor lounge.

The Harvest Moon benefit began in 2019, after Young ended his long-running Bridge School Benefit Concert in Northern California. That annual event, presented for 30 years at Shoreline Amphitheatre, featured all-star acoustic lineups before Young stepped away in 2017.

This year’s Harvest Moon marks the latest revival of Young’s philanthropic vision, connecting music and activism in support of children with profound challenges.
