A new genre-blending Korean movie is now an instant Netflix hit. In the last half-decade, Korean content has taken the world by storm, especially after the historic Oscar win for Parasite and the Emmy-winning series Squid Game. While several streamers have been slowly catching up, Netflix has led the charge in pushing out a range of Korean movies and series.
On October 17, Netflix dropped its newest Korean movie, Good News, starring Sul Kyung-gu, Hong Kyung, and Ryoo Seung-bum. It’s a genre mash-up ranging from black comedy, political and thriller. Now, it seems that the unique concept may have paid off as Good News cracks the top 10 charts on Netflix’s non-English list.
