Jennifer Lopez is set to star in the upcoming film “The Last Mrs. Parrish.”
The Netflix movie, directed by Oscar winner Robert Zemeckis, is filming in New Jersey, where Lopez has been spending a lot of time working on other movies in the past few years.
Zemeckis, who won the Oscar for best director for “Forrest Gump” (1994), also helmed hit films like “Back to the Future” (1985), “Romancing the Stone” (1984), “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (1988) and “Cast Away” (2000).
“The Last Mrs. Parrish” is a psychological thriller based on the bestselling 2017 novel by Liv Constantine, adapted for the screen by Andrea Berloff (“Straight Outta Compton”) and John Gatins (“Flight”). Liv Constantine is the pen name of sisters Lynne Constantine and Valerie Constantine.

J. Lo’s other New Jersey-made films over the past few years include the new take on musical “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” which is coming to theaters Oct. 10. The movie, directed by Bill Condon, filmed at 10 Basin Studios in Kearny and is generating awards chatter for Lopez after a well-received premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January. She stars alongside Tonatiuh and Diego Luna in the film.
Earlier this year, Lopez also filmed the Netflix rom-com “Office Romance” in Jersey (including Hoboken and Kenilworth) with “Ted Lasso” star Brett Goldstein. Goldstein co-wrote the film with “Lasso” co-creator and producer Joe Kelly, a Fair Lawn native.
