Jordan Peele‘s next horror film takes audiences to the gridiron, mixing scares with snaps in a dark exploration of the football underworld. The director of the Peele-produced project, Him, recently said the “genre mashup” is a combination of Nosferatu and Ex Machina.
Speaking with SFX Magazine, Him director Justin Tipping described his new movie as having a similar tone and theme to the classics mentioned above, despite not featuring any vampires or robots. Tipping said Him is “almost like Nosferatu or Ex Machina… just with two quarterbacks,” adding that it tells a “very contained, very simple” story about toxic masculinity.
