Two New Orleans-born actresses who star in the hit hospital drama “The Pitt” were nominated Wednesday for Emmy awards honoring their performances.
Katherine LaNasa, 59, and Tal Anderson, 28, were nominated for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series and outstanding guest actress in a drama series, respectively.
Both star in the emergency-room show that follows the staff at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center through each hour of their workday. The program, which first aired in 2025, received the highest number of nominations this cycle with 25.
LaNasa, who was born in New Orleans but raised in Baton Rouge, plays a tough yet compassionate charge nurse, Dana, opposite Noah Wylie’s Dr. Michael Robinavitch. She won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in 2025 for the role, more than 30 years after her Hollywood debut.
Anderson, who previously starred as Sid in “Atypical,” appears in “The Pitt” as the twin sister of Dr. Mel King, played by actress Taylor Dearden. It’s the first Emmy nomination for Anderson, who has autism and has been outspoken about disability inclusion in TV and film.
The 2026 Emmy Awards show will air on NBC on Sept. 14 and is set to be hosted by Mariska Hargitay.
