Nick Cannon and Alyssa Scott are honoring their late son Zen on what would have been his fifth birthday.
On Thursday, June 25, the Masked Singer host, 45, and the model, 32, paid tribute to their late son Zen, who died of a brain tumor at 5 months old in December 2021. Cannon and Scott, alongside several of their friends and family, could be seen wearing white and honoring Zen’s life with a beachside memorial in photos shared to Instagram.
In several pictures, Cannon, Scott and their guests could be seen holding up candles in honor of Zen. There was also a birthday cake with Zen’s picture on it and a candle in the shape of a five.

“What a beautiful celebration of life for our Angel Zen Scott Cannon. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made His light shine in our hearts.’ — 2 Corinthians 4:6,” Cannon wrote in his caption. “Zen’s Light will forever shine in our hearts. We love you my son ❤️🕊️🙏🏾 .”
Cannon is dad of 12. He shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah Cannon and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and daughter Onyx Ice Cole with LaNisha Cole.
Cannon is father to two children with Scott — son Zen and daughter Halo Marie Cannon, born on Dec. 14, 2022.

Last June, Cannon honored Zen on what would have been his 4th birthday, sharing a video on his Instagram. In the clip, Cannon could be seen lighting a candle and visiting a local hospital in honor of his son.
“Today, we celebrate what would have been my son Zen’s fourth birthday. Though he was with us for a brief time, his light continues to inspire others through the work of the Zen’s Light Foundation,” Cannon wrote in his caption.
“In honor of Zen, I’m proud to announce that we’re partnering with ReisFields to launch the ‘Zen’s Light: A Celebration of Life Candle.’ Every purchase goes directly to supporting families affected by childhood cancer and other diseases.”
