A chilling resurfaced interview featuring Rob and Nick Reiner has left viewers deeply unsettled following recent tragic developments.
Rob and his spouse, Michele, were discovered brutally murdered with stab wounds at their Los Angeles residence on December 14, with reports indicating their throats had been slashed.
Their daughter, Romy Reiner, allegedly stumbled upon the horrific scene and contacted emergency services, who responded at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Reiner murder case got a gory update today, while son Nick’s court hearing was postponed for an alarming reason.
The couple’s son, Nick, was taken into custody the following day in relation to the killings, though authorities have yet to disclose a motive.
Nick has been transparent about his struggles with drug dependency, first entering treatment at just 15 years of age, reports the Irish Star.
When asked whether Nick experienced similar conflicts with Rob, the then-22-year-old responded, “We didn’t ever argue quite like that, I mean we did, I guess to a degree, but it was never…” before his voice faded.
The interviewer interjected, “He was fiery. You don’t seem very fiery to me,” referencing the lead character in the movie.
Nick then delivered a bone-chilling 10-word response that, nearly a decade on, takes on a more sinister meaning. “I get crazy. You don’t want to set me off,” he declared, prompting his father, Rob, to chuckle and add, “We can both get pretty hot, and there were times that it did get hot.”
In a candid conversation with the LA Times, Rob opened up about the dynamic between himself, his wife, and Nick throughout his rehabilitation period. “When Nick would tell us that it wasn’t working for him, we wouldn’t listen. We were desperate, and because the people had diplomas on their wall, we listened to them when we should have been listening to our son,” the late filmmaker revealed.
“We were so influenced by these people. They would tell us he’s a liar, that he was trying to manipulate us. And we believed them,” Michele confessed.
The documentary Being Charlie appeared to heal the fractured bond between father and son, with Rob later reflecting, “Oh, to be honest, by the time we got to the point of making the movie, it didn’t matter if we actually did. Because our relationship had gotten so much closer.”
It comes after claims Nick Reiner would do illegal act and ‘not sleep for days’ before his arrest for murder.
