Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Keith Urban last month, with a relationship expert encouraging the pair to focus on their children as they navigate the split.
The former flames share two children together – Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret – and relationship expert Louella Alderon has said the country singer and Babygirl actress need to make the best decisions for their kids so they can maintain a feeling of “stability.”
“Custody agreements are always complicated and it’s important to put the children’s needs first,” Alderson told The Express US. Her comments come after Keith, 57, was forced to pull out of a planned concert.
Nicole, 58, requested in court documents, seen by The Express US, to become the primary residential parent of her and Keith’s two daughters.
The documents revealed the former couple have agreed a parenting plan which sees Nicole getting 306 days with her daughters, while Keith will get 59 days with them.
Alderson concluded, “Their shared children are also old enough to have some say in what they want.
“Even with a formal custody agreement in place, there’s usually flexibility. If they want to see their dad more often, it’s likely Nicole would be open to that. At this stage, it’s probably about finding what feels balanced and supportive for them both as parents and most importantly, for the children.”
Nicole filed for fivorce from Keith in a Nashville court at the end of September.
The documents state the couple has undergone “marital difficulties and irreconcilable differences.”
