Actress Nicole Kidman is showing a more vulnerable side as she adjusts to life after her split from Keith Urban, according to a body language expert who analyzed the actress’s first major appearance since the separation.
The Oscar winner, 57, stepped out in Paris earlier this month with her and Urban’s two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The trio posed together on the red carpet, marking the first time Kidman has brought her daughters to such an event.
Body language expert Judi James told The Express there were clear emotional signals in how Kidman chose to appear alongside her daughters.
“There are some soft power signals coming from Nicole’s decision to take her and Keith’s two daughters to Paris to pose on the red carpet alongside her here,” she said. “There is a suggestion of supporting their mother, with the tight hand clasp and the rather elegant grouping, and there is also a ‘team’ feel to the photos.”
“Nicole can’t be accused of any ‘revenge dressing’ here though, as her simple white shirt and pants look is hugely understated, comfortable, and casual as though she’s not vying for attention,” James added. “Although an outfit like this would command a kind of reverse psychology attention among the good and the great of the fashion world.”
According to court filings, Kidman is seeking primary residential custody of their daughters, while Urban will continue to share co-parenting responsibilities. He has reportedly been staying in Nashville, where he has resumed work on new music following the announcement.
Public signs of tension had surfaced earlier in the year when Urban abruptly ended a virtual interview after being asked about Kidman’s on-screen intimate scenes.
In recent weeks, he’s also been photographed performing without his wedding ring, fueling speculation that the couple’s relationship had unraveled months before the news became public.
