Nintendo shared a new update to its Nintendo Music platform that adds support for streaming its songs and famed game soundtracks on Apple CarPlay- and Android Auto-enabled infotainment systems.

This new support will give users the ability to natively enjoy their favorite Nintendo Music tracks directly on their car’s infotainment system, provided their car supports CarPlay or Android Auto.

Nintendo Music Now Supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

Nintendo shared a new “updates trailer” via its official YouTube account to highlight the latest improvements to the Nintendo Music app, the company’s dedicated music streaming platform for fans. One of the biggest announcements here is the update, which adds support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, offering a better way to connect to the driving experience.

With this feature, users can stream songs natively via their Apple CarPlay and Android Auto-connected infotainment systems, making it easier to play songs. This feature ensures that users can play their favorite songs on the Nintendo Music without leaving CarPlay or Android Auto driving mode.

For users whose preferred apps are not directly accessible via CarPlay or Android Auto, they will not be able to see the app’s interface or use it on the large in-car display. The workaround is to connect to the infotainment system’s Bluetooth and stream songs there, like any other music player app.

Blast ‘Mario Kart’ Songs While Driving with Latest Update

With this latest integration, users will have no problem accessing their Nintendo Music library and streaming their songs directly from the app to the CarPlay and Android Auto-enabled displays inside their cars. According to Nintendo, users only need to update their Nintendo Music app to the latest version to access the new feature.

According to CNET, this lets users play songs from their favorite video games and franchises while driving, with one of the most fitting soundtracks being the “Mario Kart” franchise’s iconic music.

Nintendo Music is available to users who have subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online service for free, with their subscription including the music streaming platform.

Alongside the new support, Nintendo also added a direct web browser player and a tablet-optimized app for its Nintendo Music platform.
