He’s known and beloved for his cheeky antics at royal events – but the famously playful Prince Louis appeared to be on his best behaviour during Sunday’s Easter Service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The seven-year-old was smart in a double breasted suit, staying close to his parents – the Prince and Princess of Wales – and bashfully waving for photos with his sister Charlotte, 10.

From his very animated facial expressions to his glee over sweet treats and chocolates, many have come to look forward to the mischievous antics from William and Kate’s youngest child.

However, royal fans were in awe over how ‘grown up’ little Louis was this weekend.

‘The HRH’s of Wales are raising their children to be respectful and well mannered to all that they meet,’ one supporter wrote on social media. ‘Young HRH Prince Louis is learning very well.’

‘Such well behaved children,’ another gushed.

A third said Louis looked ‘so grown up’ as he and his sister waved to crowds after the service.

It’s certainly a change from previous years, which saw Louis winning himself legions of fans through his cheeky antics.

In 2022, then four years old, he stole the show at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee; during an appearance that cemented his status as the internet’s favourite royal.

The toddler was spotted grumpily covering his ears during a flyover at Trooping the Colour, and was scolded by his older sister Princess Charlotte, then seven, for waving too much in a carriage procession.

The little prince’s moods ranged wildly from annoyance and despair to excitement as Louis was spotted chatting animatedly with his great-grandmother.

Royal fans on social media found his ever-changing moods extremely relatable, with images of the prince pulling hilarious faces circulating online for months.

A couple of years later, during the Trooping the Colour in 2024, Charlotte, then nine, once again appeared to take her role as the older sister very seriously as she told Louis off, not once, but twice.

She ordered her little brother to stand up straight on the Buckingham Palace balcony, as the family gathered to watch the flypast at the annual event.

Earlier in the day, the prince was once again told off by his sister as she ordered him to ‘stop’ his dancing, whilst standing at a window in the Horse Guards building, so they could watch King Charles inspecting the troops outside.

Elsewhere, just a few months ago, Louis couldn’t contain his glee when a royal fan gave the seven-year-old a massive tub of Lindor chocolates after the Christmas church service at Sandringham.

A video taken outside St Mary Magdalene Church on the King’s Norfolk estate showed the young royal grab the box out of his father’s hands after the well-wisher informed Prince William ‘those are for Louis’.

Sunday’s Easter service however saw Louis obediently following his parents and siblings.

From his very animated facial expressions to his glee over sweet treats and chocolates, many have come to look forward to the mischievious antics from William and Kate’s youngest child. However, royal fans were in awe over how ‘grown up’ little Louis was this weekend

The royals – showing a unified front – waved and smiled at the crowds as they chatted happily while walking down the path to the church.

It is custom for working members of the Royal family to walk from Windsor Castle, despite this weekend’s blustery conditions, while Charles and Camilla were driven by the State Bentley.

As the King made his way inside, he appeared to then affectionately pat Louis and his sister Princess Charlotte, ten, on the cheek, as the children waited with their parents for the monarch to enter the church first.

Kate wore an off-white ensemble of skirt, small jacket and leafy hat, while William and the boys wore dark blue suits and ties.

Princess Charlotte was sporting a pretty dress under an elegant camel-coloured coat with a brown velvet collar and cuffs.

Camilla opted for a red wool crepe dress by Fiona Clare and a hat by Philip Treacy with a brooch that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II.

Meanwhile the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was notably absent from today’s event, on Saturday cut a lonely figure as he was pictured walking his dogs on the Sandringham estate.

This comes after his alleged ‘riding ban’ following his arrest on February 19, on his 66th birthday.

The former Duke of York was reportedly urged to stop riding – one of his favourite hobbies – after aides feared it would be a ‘bad look’ while under police investigation for misconduct in public office.

He has denied any wrongdoing over his links to Epstein regarding Ms Giuffre, but has not directly responded to the latest allegations.

Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, also joined the Easter gathering, alongside the Duke of Edinburgh and his 18-year-old son James, Earl of Wessex.

The Duchess of Edinburgh was expected to attend but was ‘under the weather’, while her daughter, Lady Louise, was busy with her studies.

Notably Andrew’s daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie did not attend the Easter Matins service.

With the agreement of the King, the pair have made alternative plans and will miss the traditional gathering.

After the hour-long service, during which prayers were said for the Royal Family and the National Anthem sung, the royal party moved from the chapel to the deanery for tea with the Dean of Windsor, The Right Reverend Christopher Cocksworth.

Charles appeared alongside Camilla after around 20 minutes and greeted the public waiting patiently outside the chapel.

As they walked back up the hill to the castle, Catherine could be seen giving her daughter, Charlotte, a proud hug, placing her arm around her shoulders and squeezing her.

The Easter Service comes days after Buckingham Palace announced Charles’s visit to the US will go ahead from April 27 to April 30 as planned, despite tensions between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer over the Iran war.
