NOLAxNOLA concert series returning to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The NOLAxNOLA concert series will return for its fifth run Sept. 25 through Oct. 5.

According to New Orleans and Company, the concert series will feature over 50 different music venues and over 300 musical performances.

The event began during the COVID-19 pandemic to support local musicians. It was originally envisioned to sustain the local music scene in the absence of New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

Highlights of the event will include:

• Sept. 25- The Comedy Roast of Jelly Joseph at Tipitina’s

• Sept. 25- the Soul Rebels featuring Jelly Joseph at Le Bon Temps Roule

• Sept. 26- Cha Wa featuring Irma Thomas and more

• Sept. 26- Big Freedia plus Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra at the Orpheum Theater

• Oct. 3- Erica Falls Tribute to Curtis Mayfield featuring Irma Thomas, Bill Summers, Raymond Webber and more at Chickie Wah Wah

NOLAxNOLA Talks and Relix Magazine will hold free conversations and panels discussing the music industry, venues, musicians and other artists at the New Orleans Jazz Museum Oct. 2 through Oct. 3 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
