It’s the third single of her upcoming album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love
Olivia Rodrigo has announced a new song featuring The Cure frontman Robert Smith. ‘What’s Wrong With Me’ will be released on June 12.
“I am still in disbelief that Robert, who is in my eyes one of the most brilliant, legendary and wonderful people to ever exist, is on this record with me,” Rodrigo wrote on social media.
The song premiered at Primavera Sound in Barcelona on Saturday, where Rodrigo surprised fans by bringing Smith on stage for its live debut.
“It’s really special to me for so many reasons, primarily because it’s the first song I’ve ever had a feature on,” she told the crowd before revealing Smith as the guest artist.
‘What’s Wrong With Me’ serves as the third single from Rodrigo’s upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which is also due for release on June 12. Lead single ‘Drop Dead’ debuted at No. 1 in several countries, including Ireland. The second single, ‘The Cure’, has no direct reference to the band.
This is not the first time Rodrigo and Smith have shared a stage. During last year’s Glastonbury Festival, the pair performed The Cure classics ‘Just Like Heaven’ and ‘Friday I’m in Love’ together.
The Cure headlined Primavera Sound on Friday, marking the band’s first performance since November 2024. Their last run of shows supported the group’s fourteenth studio album Songs of a Lost World, their first record in 16 years.
