Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” led the film contenders with 17 nominations, nearly matching the record of 18 that Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” achieved two years ago. Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” followed closely behind “Sinners,” earning 14 nominations.
Ultimately, “Sinners” picked up four wins, including Best Original Screenplay for Coogler, while “One Battle After Another” not only walked away with Best Picture, but three overall wins, including Best Director for Anderson.
