Finally, August is here! This means the eagerly anticipated prequel series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, will premiere tonight, August 8, on Starz. Ahead of its release, the spin-off has already begun with some promise, as it boasts a magical Rotten Tomatoes score. The Outlanderprequel holds an admirable 92% rating based on 12 critics’ reviews. The series stars Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie alongside Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser, parents of the original show’s co-lead, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). While Hermione Corfield‘s Julia Moriston and Jeremy Irvine‘s Henry Beauchamp bring Claire’s (Caitríona Balfe) parents to life.
Besides the prequel’s primary cast, there are several supporting cast members who will help add to the richness of the story. They include Rory Alexander, who plays Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Tony Curran stars as Jamie’s grandfather, Lord Lavat, and Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie.
