Born June 24, 1989, in Meopham, England, the British singer’s career began with the formation of the Paradiso Girls. Their 2009 debut single “Patron Tequila” reached No. 3 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart and No. 82 on the Canadian Hot 100.
The group disbanded in 2010, and Bennett subsequently found solo success as a featured artist on tracks from will.i.am and CeeLo Green. In 2011, she joined the Party Rock Tour with LMFAO and was featured on the group’s international hit, “Party Rock Anthem.” The song peaked at No. 1 in 20 countries and became the third best-selling digital song in U.S. history.
Bennett soon joined G.R.L. alongside Simone Battle, Emmalyn Estrada, and Natasha Slayton. They debuted their hit single “Vacation” on the Smurfs 2 soundtrack, released a self-titled EP in 2014, and sang on Pitbull’s radio hit “Wild Wild Love.” But then Battle died by suicide in September 2015, and the group released a single in her honor, “Lighthouse,” before disbanding the following year. Bennett and Slayton would eventually reform as a trio with Jazzy Mejia.
