Pat Sajak is updating fans on his life after retiring from Wheel of Fortune in 2024.
The television presenter posted a hilarious video of himself in which he claimed to be living in Montana, but was clearly spending time at an oceanfront property.
“You’ll have to excuse me, I have some cattle to attend to,” he quipped.
Pat Sajak is enjoying his retirement… wherever he is in the world!
The television presenter, 79, provided fans with an update on how he’s been spending his time since stepping down as host of Wheel of Fortune in 2024.
“Hi! I know a lot of you have been wondering, asking me how I’m doing, and I’m enjoying life,” Sajak said in a clip posted on X over the weekend. “I moved here to Montana and everything is going just great. So, I just want to say hello.”

The only problem? Sajak, dressed in a white-and-blue striped shirt and white jeans, was clearly not in Montana. Instead, the cheeky host could be seen standing in front of a large swimming pool, with the ocean and several large palm trees behind him.
“You’ll have to excuse me, I have some cattle to attend to,” Sajak jokingly continued. “Here, boy!” A mooing cow could then be heard offscreen.
The host’s fanbase quickly got in on the joke, too. “That’s a pretty big pond that you have there in the background,” one user wrote. “Can imagine that your cows will really enjoy cooling off in it on these hot summer days.”
Another teased, “That’s not Montana that’s Ohio.”

Sajak announced his retirement from Wheel of Fortune back in June 2023, exactly four decades after he took the beloved game show from daytime to nighttime in 1983.
“Well, the time has come,” he said in a social media statement at the time. “I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last. It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)”
He spun the wheel on the main series for the last time in June 2024, but didn’t officially say goodbye until his final episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune aired in June 2025.
“I want to thank ABC for the opportunity to host season 5 of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” Sajak said at the beginning of the broadcast. He jokingly added, “I hope they’ll take a close look at my proposed primetime series, Sajak Senior Secret Agent.”
Sajak was subsequently replaced on both Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and the main series by host Ryan Seacrest. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly in April, everyone’s favorite tile turner Vanna White compared her two cohosts.
“I would say it’s comparing apples to oranges,” White said. “They’re both great. Everybody has their own style, and people watching the show can see their personality.”
