Seattle returns to the reality TV spotlight in the new season of Peacock’s “Married at First Sight,” which will feature local singles who marry a stranger. After the wedding, the newlyweds get to know one another, relationship experts offer guidance and eventually the couples determine if they want to remain married or go their separate ways through a divorce.
This 20-episode season of “Married at First Sight” streams its first episode on Peacock on Sunday; after that, two (or three) episodes debut weekly on Thursdays through the Aug. 27 finale and reunion. (Episodes come out at 3 a.m. on release days.)
“Married at First Sight” executive producer Chris Coelen said Seattle was chosen for this season not only for how good the city looks on camera, but also because “its people come from a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences, making for a really interesting pool of singles.”
The show filmed at locations that include Pike Place Market, Kerry Park, the Hotel Sorrento’s rooftop, Seattle Glassblowing Studio, The Lookout Bar & Grill on Capitol Hill, Pioneer Square, Wicked Rae’s splatter paint studio, Woodland Park, Lake Union Park and Harbor Island Studios.
Contestants this season include: Adam, 31; BelléJolie, 28; Caitlin, 27; Cameron, 37; Courteney, 28; Devin, 26; Felipe, 29; Marissa, 30; Mecca, 28; Michelle, 28; Nick, 31; Nikki, 46; Shawn, 47 and Tori, 32. (“Married” does not share full names of its contestants.)
“We filmed from late summer into fall (2025), allowing us to capture Seattle at one of its most beautiful times of year,” Coelen wrote. “The local businesses and community were incredibly welcoming, and we even filmed aboard a ferry to capture one groom’s everyday commute.”
“Married” originated in Denmark in 2013 and soon became a global franchise with the U.S. version launching on cable’s FYI and then moving to Lifetime, where it aired for more than a dozen seasons.
The show relocated to Peacock in 2025 for its 19th season. The Seattle iteration is Season 20, and the show has been renewed for a 21st season that is casting in Charlotte, N.C.
This Seattle season introduces two new relationship experts: Paul C. Brunson, a matchmaker and relationship coach, and Dr. Lisa Paz, a licensed marriage and family therapist with 20 years of helping couples manage intimacy and relationship issues.
“Married at First Sight” is just the latest dating series to make a seasonlong pit stop in the Emerald City. Netflix’s “Love is Blind” set up shop locally for its fourth season in 2023.
