Prepare to have showtunes stuck in your head starting in September. Broadway in San Antonio has revealed its 11-show 2026/2027 lineup at the Majestic Theatre, full of Alamo City debuts, jukebox musicals, and barn-burning classics.
The season comes with five performances never before staged in San Antonio. Locals will no doubt be familiar with the gist of Mrs. Doubtfire, Buena Vista Social Club, The Great Gatsby, and Death Becomes Her from their beloved cinematic and literary sources. Alicia Keys’ Hell’s Kitchen is a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story set to a soundtrack of smash hits like “Fallin’” and “Empire State of Mind.”
A few familiar titles are also returning to the downtown theater. Show folk can feel the hills come alive with The Sound of Music, repeat viewings of Beetlejuice three times, or relive Tony winners like The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked.
It’s probably no surprise that the latter two have extended runs.“Each season, we are honored to bring home some of Broadway’s most celebrated productions to the Majestic Theatre, and the 2026/2027 season will present even more exceptional performances,” said Emily Smith, General Manager of the Majestic Theatre, in a release. “With iconic titles like Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Sound of Music, this new lineup offers unforgettable experiences for all audiences.”

Seven-show subscription packages start at $342 and include Mrs. Doubtfire, The Sound of Music, Buena Vista Social Club, Phantom of the Opera, Hell’s Kitchen, The Great Gatsby, and Death Becomes Her. Beetlejuice, A Christmas Story: The Musical, Waitress, and Wicked are available as add-on options. The full season spans from September 15 to June 20, 2027.
As always, the Majestic is also spreading the joy of theater to students. Through the Broadway League’s Broadway Bridges program, complimentary tickets will be available to Title I high school students, with limited $40 tickets available to students for select performances. Post-show talkbacks are planned for select shows as well.
