Athfest usually doesn’t start posting application notices until January, but the downtown music and arts festival on recently announced that it will begin accepting submissions from performers.
A news release issued Monday noted that the early application time will allow the booking committee more time to review the submissions and announce the lineup of selected acts further in advance of the event.
The 2026 Athfest Music & Arts Festival is scheduled to take place on June 26 through June 28 and is expected to feature more than 125 musical performances. The free portion of the event spans across three outdoor stages, and more than 12 local venues are due to host the ticketed Club Crawl performances. Applications for the artist market and food vendors are usually announced at a later date.
Performers who are interested in applying for Athfest can do so by filling out the online form at athfest.com/athfest-music/. The AthFest booking committee gives preference to local performers, those that have not played recent AthFests, and those that create under-represented music categories or new and engaging sounds or experiences for audiences. The last date to apply to perform at Athfest will be Feb. 14.
Athfest is an annual fundraising event for Athfest Educates, a nonprofit organization that awards grants for music and arts education in K-12 schools in Athens-Clarke County.
