One of the most perplexing things in Hollywood this year has been how quickly people have turned on Pedro Pascal. As recently as last year, he was pretty much universally beloved for his roles in shows like Game of Thrones, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us.
However, his foray into movies hasn’t been met with as much fanfare. Pascal had leading roles in at least four major theatrical releases this year and also had the second season of The Last of Us come out.
Many fans have felt that the market is getting too saturated with Pascal projects and are sick of hearing about him.
One person who doesn’t appreciate people turning on him is fellow actor Pete Davidson.
“He’s worked so hard, he’s been a struggling actor, blows up so (expletive) hard, everyone’s like ‘daddy!’ … and then a year later he’s like in everything now because he’s big and everyone’s like ‘go the (expletive) away dude!’ It’s like, what the (expletive), dude?” Davidson said on This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von.
“You’ve got to give someone time to adjust to that new level of fame … it’s like we build everybody up and now it’s so fast to turn [on them].”
Davidson knows what it’s like to have fans hate on him, and it likely takes a toll. Pascal doesn’t seem to have as many projects lined up in the future, so perhaps the backlash will start to cool off.
