Phoenix City Councilmember Laura Pastor said she was disappointed that plans to create an entertainment district in downtown Phoenix are delayed.
The item had originally been planned to come before the Economic Development and the Arts Subcommittee in March, but it was pushed to April. At the April 8 meeting, it still was not ready and had to be withdrawn for a later date.
Assistant City Manager Ginger Spencer said there were a lot of city departments and private organizations downtown to consult with on the plan, and staff also had to consult with each city council member. The withdrawal was “to give staff time to do additional stakeholder engagement,” she said.
