The Bulwark hosts poked fun at Kid Rock’s most iconic lyrics as the singer is set to perform during Bad Bunny’s halftime show.
On Friday, February 6, Tim Miller invited political commentator David French on the podcast to discuss the two performers set to perform in the middle of Super Bowl LX, which will see the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks face off for a Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Although the annual event is intended to focus on the sport, the conversations leading up to it have been dominated by politics with Erika Kirk’s Turning Point USA’s All-American Super Bowl halftime show.
Kid Rock is set to headline the brand new show.
Miller highlighted Franklin Graham’s reaction to the news.
On X, the evangelist said, “Like most Americans, I’ve enjoyed watching the Super Bowl. But the halftime shows began pushing moral boundaries and have become more and more sexualized. This year, they’re having Bad Bunny perform. The @NFL leadership is pushing this sexualized agenda. Thank you, @TPUSA and @MrsErikaKirk for providing an alternative—’The All-American Halftime Show’ with the agenda of celebrating family, faith, and freedom!”
Now that it has been branded as the “family” option, the podcast host played a friendly game with his guest.
Miller introduced, “You’re going to guess whether the lyric is from Kid Rock and his traditional mores, or whether it’s from Bad Bunny and his sexualized anti-Americanism.”
“Here’s first,” the host said. “Young ladies, young ladies/I like ’em underage, see/Some call it statutory/I say it’s mandatory.”
After French guessed Kid Rock correctly, they went on, “Here’s another one for ya: ‘She opened up wide and put balls in her mouth. Next the cutie started rubbing my back. She put her finger right between my booty crack. So, I grabbed her wrist quick and said hold up, slut. Ain’t nobody sticking nothin in my butt.”

French was mortified as covered his face. He finally responded, “Okay! That’s Kid Rock again!”
The host then commented, “That also doesn’t seem to be traditional Christian mores. Maybe this one is a little more appropriate for Franklin Graham.”
Offering a stark contrast, Miller continued, translating Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti lyrics, which say, “If you want to have fun/With charm and beauty/You just have to live (where?)/A summer in New York (New York!)”
Turning Point USA’s show came about after Bad Bunny was announced as the headliner of the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
Several right-wingers, like Megyn Kelly, have slammed the NFL’s decision, describing it as a “middle finger” to the Trump administration and its supporters.
