As part of her new vision for the music program, Anderson has introduced several new musical opportunities for students to participate in. “This year, we are excited to introduce West & 10th, our new band,” she said. In addition to West & 10th, students can join three other student ensembles: the Point Singers, the Point Percussion Ensemble and Skyhawks Pep Band. “I’m also really excited about what’s happening in our recording studio; students are pumping out some excellent original compositions,” said Anderson.
“Dr. Toni Anderson is a phenomenal music educator who finds fulfillment in helping her students grow as musicians,” said Dr. Jon Ernstberger, chief academic officer. “Her gifts as an educator, coupled with her strong faith and love of students make her a perfect fit for Point University’s music program at precisely this moment. Based upon conversations I’ve had with Dr. Anderson, I’m very excited about the future of fine arts at Point University!”
Anderson is eager about the future of Point University’s music program. “I want every student who walks through our door — majors, nonmajors or attendees — to be enriched and uplifted by the power of music,” said Anderson. “God blessed us this year with some amazing talents — singers, drummers, guitarists, composers — a perfect combination of talent with which to build something great. I’m excited to see what God has in store!”
