History was made in the household of Dosunmu Royal Family on Sunday, April 12, 2026, as Prince Gbadebo Dosunmu was presented with the certificate as the Olori Ebi Of Dosunmu Royal Family Of Lagos.
Prince Dosunmu had earlier been overwhelmingly elected as Olori-Ebi of the ruling house in 2024.
The presentation ceremony which took place at the Lagos Island West Local Government Secretariat was witnessed by over 100 family members from across the 26 branches of Oba Dosunmu of Lagos who unanimously chorused their acceptance of Prince Gbadebo Dosunmu as the Olori-Ebi of the ruling house.
The Bajulaye of Lagos, Chief Ayodele Oyekan, and one-time Commissioner for Agriculture in Lagos state, Dr. Muftau Animashaun, while presenting the certificate, showered the new Olori Ebi with prayers for success and longevity.
Prince Gbadebo Dosunmu, a fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Building (FNIOB) and Director in the Lagos State Civil Service, doubles as the chairman of the Dosunmu Royal Family of Lagos.
The certificate was signed by His Royal Highness, Onilado Of Ilado and Inagbe, Oba Mobadenle Obalade Oyekan.
In a press statement, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Dosunmu Royal Family of Lagos, Prince Taofeek Yinka Aromashodu said the new Olori Ebi will soon be unfolding his plans for the family in due course.
“The Olori Ebi will soon start to marshall his plans to reposition the family after settling down to work”, said Prince Aromashodu.
