Prince George, who recently turned 12, is being encouraged to develop “have a presence” ahead of his future reign.

Although he stands second in line to the British throne, directly after his father Prince William, the young Royal has been shielded from public attention wherever possible.

William, 43, is determined to provide his eldest son with an ordinary childhood featuring limited involvement in Royal duties. Nevertheless, Royal commentator Katie Nicholl argues that it’s essential for the British public to “fall in love” with George whilst he’s still young.

She said, “William doesn’t want George to have the same level of exposure he and Prince Harry had as kids, so it has to be done very carefully.”

Ms Nicholl added: “[Prince] William has the sense to know that the public needs to fall in love with George as a youngster. “

She further stated: “He has to have a presence, and he can’t be kept under lock and key and only introduced when he’s 18.”

George, alongside his younger siblings – Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven year old Prince Louis – generally only makes appearances at significant Royal occasions including Trooping the Colour, the Easter Sunday service, and the Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham.

They have also accompanied their parents to prominent national gatherings.Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been spotted at Wimbledon, most recently this past July, whilst all three youngsters took part in King Charles’s Coronation during May 2023.

Prince William is reportedly grooming his eldest son for future duties, with Royal expert Ms. Nicholl stating, “The aides I’ve spoken to and those who know him best say he is absolutely prepared. “

“Of course, it’s not a moment he wants to think about.

“He loves his father and wants him to be around for a long time, but when the time comes, he will be ready.”
