Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are living on borrowed time, says one royal writer, that one wrong move and they may be stripped of their titles.
King Charles is loyal to his son and daughter-in-law, and has no plans to take their titles from them, but that’s not to say Prince William won’t when it’s his time to take the throne.
Now that Prince Andrew has stopped using his dukedom, because of his alleged relationship with the late Jeffrey Epstein, the monarchy has shown they can make the hard decisions and no one is safe, including the Sussexes, according to Jane Barr, which she addresses in her Substack.
Barr wrote: “I don’t think Harry and Meghan are in danger of losing their titles, but they now know there is a limit.”
She added: “They had already cooled it on the Oprah interviews, but they’ll know to be very careful in the future. Andrew has proved that, as the French are wont to say, il y a des limites.”
Harry is a fighter, going to court to fight for his security in the U.K., so with that said, he would not relinquish his title so easily, according to Barr.
She explained: “Plus, the only way the Sussexes would be willing to voluntarily cease to use their titles would be if it were plausible that Parliament would, in fact, strip them.”
The royal writer gives the Sussexes a break, saying they’ve pulled back on accusatory interviews, and if their titles were put in jeopardy it would have to be a “fresh” offense or it would make the monarch look bad.
