Prince Harry has spoken out against claims that his wife, Meghan Markle, is “bossing him around,” according to reports. A new bombshell cover story by Hollywood bible Variety brings fresh insight into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
One of the bombshell claims in the new report, sources alleged that Meghan thinks that Hollywood is “her domain” and that tends to “talk over or recast” her husband’s thoughts, “usually preceded by a touch to the arm or thigh”. But the couple’s attorney, Michael J. Kump, responded to claims in a letter to the publication, which said that they “seem calculated to play into the misogynistic characterisation of her bossing her husband around”.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is said to “attest” the claim, saying it’s “categorically false”.
Other bombshell claims in the cover story, which focuses on their partnership with Netflix, include how the streaming service is “done” with Harry and Meghan.
The report said: “Meghan also had odd methods of providing feedback, according to three sources.
“She was known to ‘disappear’ for long periods during Zoom calls, the sources say. Later, Netflix teams like the marketing department would be informed that her absence was due to her being offended by something that was said.”
In response to that, Meghan’s lawyer said that she “works from home, is the mother of young children aged 4 and 6, and often encounters (as many parents who work from home do) children who enter the space unexpectedly during a meeting. Independent of being a parent who works from home, Meghan is also conscious of shielding her team from the distraction of children.
“Nearly all professionals can attest to needing to turn off the audio or camera during a virtual meeting at some point during many hours of virtual business calls.”
The media giant also questioned whether the Sussexes’ time in Hollywood had passed its prime.
It said: “But after half a decade of inconsistent shows, strategic shifts, false starts and a diminished hold on the popular imagination, are the Sussexes really living the Hollywood dream they imagined?”
